Amritsar, February 1 (Punjab Post Bureau)- Basant Panchmi festival was celebrated at Sri Guru Harkrishan Public School Airport Road under the leadership of Principal Ravinder Kaur Bumrah. All the staff members, students of Pre-Nursery, Nursery and KG were dressed in yellow colour.
The students of 10th class gave lectures on this festival. In their speeches they signed the importance of this festival. They told that spring is after called the queen of all seasons and it is the most pleasant season in our country. Basant Panchmi is treated by celebrants as the birthday of Goddess Saraswati. On this day, the students brought different kinds of yellow dishes such as Basanti Halwa, Kesaria Kheer. They shared with each other and enjoyed the dishes. The students decorated their class rooms with coloured kites. Principal Ravinder Kaur Bumra wished them happy & prosperous Basant. She told the students that this festival is the merriest part of the year. Through this festival is associated with kite flying also, but we should use Chinese string. She also gave the message “Say No the Chinese String.”
