Aujla demands International Flights from Holy City Amritsar

Amritsar, July 10 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Member Parliament Gurjeet Singh Aujla today attended the meeting of Gurjit AujlaParliamentary Consultative Committee on Tourism & Culture held at Kolkata. The meeting was organised by Ministry of Tourism chaired by Minister of State for Tourism Dr. Mahesh Sharma. Mr. Aujla addressed the gathering regarding the tourism prospects in Amritsar and Punjab. He pressed the demand for inclusion of Amritsar into Ramayana Circuit, Historical Circuit, Rural Circuit and Spiritual Circuit of Swadesh Darshan list along with the twelve Parsad cities of India by Ministry of Tourism. Aujla also demanded international flights to and from Amritsar airport defining the tourist, heritage, spiritual, religious, medical, economic importance of the Holy City. He also defined the discontinuation of the international flights from Amritsar due to the aero policies by GMR. The chairman and members of the committee acknowledging the importance of the Holy City and its prospects in the tourism and culture assured Aujla the full support for this cause. Aujla also presented memorandum to the Minister of Tourism.
