Jalandhar, July 15 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The Indo-Thailand Joint Training Exercise Maitree 2017 culminated today at Friendly Foreign Country Node, Bakloh in Himachal Pradesh. Fourteen days of Joint Training included understanding of each other’s operational methodology, developing interoperability and conduct of a joint tactical operations controlled by a Joint Command Post. The exercise concluded with a validation exercise based on Counter Terrorism setting.
General Officer Commanding, Dah Division Major General VS Ranade after addressing the participating contingents declared the Joint Training Exercise closed. Observers of both the nations appreciated the professionally conducted training which has resulted in instilling confidence in each other’s capability. This sort of military exercise will strengthen the friendly relations between Thailand & India and build up understanding between the ranks & file of two armies. Both armies stand to benefit mutually from each other’s experiences in fighting insurgency/terrorism in all forms. The present iteration of the joint exercise was conducted under the Dalhousie Brigade of Dah Division in Northern Command.
