Research grant of Rs.6.18 Crores for Guru Nanak Dev University

Amritsar August 30 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The Guru Nanak Dev University has received a grant of Rs.6.18 crores from Dept. of Science & Technology(DST), Ministry of Science & Technology under the Promotion of University Research and Scientific Excellence programme. The Dept. of Science & Technology (DST) undertook an independent study to analyse the performance of Universities through publications in SCOPUS Database (Scopus is the world’s largest abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed research literature.) for the period w.e.f. 2002-2012 and recorded the h-index along with the publications in these 10 years.   This grant has been sanctioned to the University on the basis of h-index which is the highest in the region with 77 (Web of Sciences).  The h-index indicates impact of research publications of a university.
