NSS volunteers of BBK DAV College celebrated International Literacy Week

Amritsar, July 14 ( Punjab Post Bureau)- NSS volunteers of BBK DAV College for Women, celebrated International Literacy Week from the 8th to 14th of July by conducting Declamation Contest and Quote Writing in the college campus informed Principal, Dr. (Mrs) Neelam Kamra. Volunteers displayed quotes on Literacy week at various display boards. Quote writing was also conducted on World Population Day on the 11th of July. Divya and Pratibha from M.Sc. Computer Science and BA respectively were selected for best quotes. A Declamation Contest was organized on the last day of Literacy Week. The college also celebrates Literacy day on the 8th of September informed programme officer Dr. Jaspreet Bedi. She said that the unit also organizes lectures on legal literacy in coordination with Legal Literacy Club of the college. Volunteers were very enthusiastic about the event. Volunteer Pratibha of the college is already working for this cause in Citizen Forum Vidya Mandir School for the underprivileged. Programme officer Surbhi Sethi and Dr. Shaveta Kapoor were also present to bless students and to motivate them for literacy drive. Harsha, Shruti, and Nidhi were declared Ist, IInd & IIIrd respectively.
