Counter Intelligence Amritsar seizes heroin and drug money

Amritsar, Nov. 7 (Punjab Post Bureau) – In the drive against drug menace Counter Intelligence has recorded another achievement by seizing heroin and drug money. Asstt. Inspector General of Police Counter Intelligence Amritsar said that acting on a secret information the team of Counter Intelligence Amritsar apprehended notorious heroin smugglers namely Sukhbir Singh @ Goldy s/o Lakha Singh r/o Vill. Muhawa PS Gharinda Distt. Amritsar and Pargat Singh s/o Budh Singh r/o Daoke, now H.No. 353 Gali No. 1, Rajinder Nagar Near Alpha One Mall Amritsar from the area situated near village Kot Dasandha Mal on Amritsar-Tarn Taran road and 500-500 gms of heroin each, total one kg, alongwith Rs.61,16,000/- genuine Indian currency (drug money) and one pistol 32 bore alongwith 103 live rounds of the same bore have been recovered from their personal possession. An FIR No. 25dt. 04.11.2017 u/s 21,25, 29/61/85 NDPS Act, 25 Arms Act, PS State Special Operations Cell Amritsar has been got registered in this regard. During the  preliminary investigation it has been found that accused Sukhbir Singh @ Goldy was in touch with Pakistani smugglers. He receives the consignment from across the border and deliver it to his associates from different areas of Punjab. Further investigation is going on.

 In an another case Sukhbir Singh @ Dodhi s/o Najar Singh r/o Kamaske tehsil Ajnala Distt. Amritsar has been arrested from the area of outside Guru Nanak Bhawan car parking near bus stand Amritsar and 270 gm heroin has been recovered from his personal possession. An FIR No. 26dt. 06.11.2017 u/s 21, 25, 29/61/85 NDPS Act PS State Special Operations Cell Amritsar has got registered in this regard. More arrests are likely in the both cases.
