Sirsa strongly opposes renaming of Dyal Singh Majithia College

New Delhi, Nov. (Punjab Post Bureau) – Shiromani Akali Dal BJP MLA Manjinder Singh Sirsa has strongly opposed renaming of prominent delhi college Dyal Singh evening college. In a statement released here today. He said that Dyal Singh Majithia has made huge contribution as leading philanthropist of India. It was his efforts that resulted in Dyal Singh College getting land on lease in 1960. Dyal Singh Evening College is an important part of Dyal Singh Trust. Changing the name of Dyal Singh Evening College is like negating his legacy. Nobody would tolerate it.

Sirsa also asked how else would future generations come to know about a great philanthropist if we change the name of Dyal Singh Evening College. He said that we would not let name change happen! He also said that he holds highest regard for VandeMataram. But this is not a welcome change. If it is not revoked, it would result in unpleasant protests all across the society. Sirsa also disclosed that he had talked to Amitabh Sinha Chairman of management committee and clearly told him that no effort will be tolerated on issue of name change of college.
