DAV Public School Students Shines in DAV National Sports Tournament

Amritsar, Jan 8 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Students of DAV Public School, Lawrence Road proved their mettle by bagging top  positions in DAV National Sports Tournament held  at DAV Centenary Public School, Hardwar recently. This prestigious tournament was held under the aegis of DAV College Managing Committee New Delhi and is affiliated to School Games Federation of India (SGFI).

 A tough fight in 21 games was given to each other by as many as 3000 participants from the DAV Institutions from all over India. DAV Public School Lawrence Road participated in 6 games viz. Skating, Badminton, Lawn Tennis, Swimming, Table Tennis and Karate and emerged winner in Lawn Tennis and Karate and bagged the overall trophy.  The school bagged Runners up trophy in Badminton and Table Tennis. The result is  as follows : Alisha Menon of  Std X  won Gold  Medal in Lawn Tennis, Vanshika Sharma and Manya  Behal  of  Std IX  bagged Gold Medal  and Sakshi Chauhan  of Std X  won Bronze Medal in  Karate .

 In Badminton Noor.A Singh and Saumya Kapoor of Std XI, Sukriti Kapoor of Std XII and Nitya Tuteja of Std VIII bagged silver medal.  Ekta Sareen of Std. VI and Ishita Gupta of Std X won Silver medal in Table Tennis. In Skating Mehak Gupta of Std. IX won one Silver medal and one Bronze medal and in Swimming Drishti Mahindru of Std XI won Bronze medal.

Regional Director Punjab Zone – A Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra and the Manager of the school Dr . Rajesh Kumar Principal DAV College Amritsar congratulated the students for their wonderful performance. They blessed them for their future endeavours. Dr. Neera Sharma, Principal of the school applauded the efforts of the students and the teachers. She advised the students to work hard and keep up their practice for good show. She encouraged them to pursue the game in future and bring laurels to the country also.
