Essay Writing Competition organized by Red Ribbon Club, DAV College

Amritsar, February 16 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Red Ribbon Club of DAV College organized an Essay Writing competition based on the theme of “Blood Donation” on February12, 2018. Red Ribbon club is a movement started by Government of India in Educational Institutes through which awareness about HIV/Aids is created. About 80 students of the college from different streams like MSC (Computer Science), BCA, BSc (IT), BSc (Non Medical), BSc (Biotech), BCOM, MSC (Physics) participated in this competition.

The competition was organized by Prof. Harsimran Singh Anand, Nodal officer Red Ribbon club, Prof. Kapil Goel, Prof. Renu Sharma. Vice Principal Dr. Vishav Bandhu appreciated the efforts of the co-coordinators for organizing such competitions. Moreover he said that blood donation is one of the most significant contributions that a person can make towards the society. He inspired the students to donate the blood voluntarily by overcoming all fears.

Speaking on the event, Prof. Harsimran Singh Anand, Nodal officer Red Ribbon Club acquainted the students about importance of blood donation and said it is not harmful for an adult person to donate blood. So we must come forward to donate blood as it can make sure the return of a dying man again into the light of life.
