Amritsar, Mar. 30 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Red Ribbon Club of DAV College Amritsar organized a Declamation
Contest based on the theme “Blood Donation” on March 28, 2018.Students from different streams like M.Sc (Computer Science), Ms (Maths), B.Sc (Economics), B.Sc (Non Medical), BSc (Biotech), B.Com, B.Sc (Computer Science) participated in this competition. In this competition Ms. Sheetal a student of B.Sc (Biotechecnology) Sem- IV stood First, Ms Yashita Pathak of B.Sc (Economics) Sem- II , Ms. Kriti Thakur of M.Sc ( Maths) Sem II bagged Second position and Mr. Gaurav of B.Sc ( Computer Science) Sem IV stood Third in the Declamation Contest. The competition was organized by Prof. Harsimran Singh Anand, Nodal officer Red Ribbon club, Prof Kapil Goel, and Prof Renu Sharma.
Principal Dr. Rajesh Khanna appreciated the efforts of the co-coordinators for organizing such competitions. Moreover he said that blood donation is one of the most significant contributions that a person can make towards the society. He said that one unit of blood can save three lives. He inspired the students to donate the blood voluntarily by overcoming all fears.
Speaking on the event, Prof Harsimran Singh Anand, Nodal officer Red Ribbon Club acquainted the students about importance of blood donation and said it is not harmful for an adult person to donate blood, So we must come forward to donate blood as it can make sure the return of a dying man again into the light of life.
