BBK DAV College wins GNDU Weight Lifting Inter-College championship

Amritsar, Apr. 10 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Weight Lifting team of BBK DAV College for Women has won the GNDU Weight Lifting Inter-College championship held at Guru Nanak Dev University. The college team put up a splendid show and defeated HMV College Jalandhar, SD College, Dinanagar and BD Arya College Jalandhar. Eight players of the college, Ms. Gagandeep Kaur, Navjot Kaur, Manalisha Sonowal, Manpreet Kaur, Amandeep Kaur, Sandeep Kaur, Sukhmanpreet Kaur and Jyoti Bala have participated in All India Inter University championship held at Chandigarh. Mr. Sudershan Kapoor, Chairman, Local Managing Committee and Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia congratulated the young achievers and motivated them to maintain their performance in future as well. She expressed her pleasure saying that the college players have always made a mark in various championships and, as a result, BBK DAV remains a forerunner in sports. The team includes Ms. Navjot Kaur, Manalisha Sonowal, Manpreet Kaur, Amandeep Kaur, Gagandeep Kaur, Manpreet Kaur, Sandeep Kaur, Sukhmanpreet Kaur and Jyoti Bala. Dr. Neera Sharma Principal, DAV School Lawrence Road, Principal Mr. Paramjit DAV School, Attari  Mr. Heera Lal Kandhari Arya Samaj, Mr. Rakesh Mehra Arya Samaj,  Mrs. Sweety Bala, Head, Department of Physical Education, Weight Lifting Coach, Mr. Daljinder Singh, Ms. Savita Kumari, Gaganpreet Kaur, teachers along with faculty members, felicitated the players on their achievements.
