Amritsar, Apr. 19 (Punjab Post Bureau) – With the blessings of Arya Ratan Dr. Punam Suri President DAV CMC New Delhi, the able supervision of Regional Director Punjab Zone – A Dr. Neelam Kamra and skilful guidance of Director PS- I and Aided Schools Sh. J.P Shoor DAV Public School, Lawrence Road, Amritsar celebrated the auspicious occasion of the birth anniversary of Mahatma Hansraj ji with great reverence. A havan was organised in the school premises on this occasion. Gurjeet Singh Aujla Member of Parliament was the Chief Guest. Other Dignitaries present were Mr. Joginder Pal Dhingra Gen. Secty. Congress committee, Miss. Manisha Gulati Chairman Mahila Punjab Committee, Mrs. Bedi Vice Chairperson DAV Bhikhiwind, Mr. Arun Khanna Director Global Institution of Childhood Disability, Regional Director Punjab Zone – A. Dr. Neelam Kamra Manager of the school Dr. Rajesh Kumar , Principals of Various DAV Institutes, LMC Members and Arya Samajists. A Special programme was organised which was dedicated to the teachings and ideals of Mahatma Hansraj Ji, a great educationist and ardent followers of Arya Samaj. He was born on April 19, 1864 in Hoshiarpur district. He was a follower of Swami Dayanand , the founder of Dayanand Anglo – Vedic School System. The students of the school, chanted mantras sang devotional songs, DAV Anthem and recited poems highlighting the vision of the great scholar for the society which included window remarriage, abolition of Sati and child marriages. He was against caste distinction also Mr.Gurjeet Singh Aujla the Chief Guest blessed the students. He inspired them to follow the teachings of Mahatma Hansraj who was a perfect motivator of men par excellence. He asked the students to imbibe true Aryan values for a better living.
Regional Director Punjab Zone –A Dr. Neelam Kamra motivated the students to take inspiration from the life of Mahatma Hansraj ji and make positive contribution to the society. He said that Mahatma ji was a great motivated and an epitome of excellence who propagated enlightenment in the form of education, with an appeal to despise social evils.
Dr. Rajesh Kumar the Manager of the school gave his best wishes on this occasion and advised the students to follow the path shown by the great visionary.
Dr. Neera Sharma, Principal of the school thanked the guests and said that she wants her students to grow into responsible citizens with high moral values. She advised them to contribute in the nation building process by uplifting the society.
