Amritsar, Nov. 18 (Punjab Post Bureau) – A two day Capacity Building Programme for English teachers teaching Std XII was held at DAV Public School Lawrence Road from November 16 to 17. The workshop was organised by CBSE Panchkula with the aim to enhance the methodology and understanding of the curriculum according to the CBSE rubrics among the teaching fraternity. The eminent resource persons were Ms. Deepa Dogra, Principal Cambridge International School for Girls Jalandhar and Ms. Roopinder Kaur Dhami PGT Cambridge International School Jalandhar.
35 participants from 25 CBSE Schools from Punjab and Haryana participated in the workshop. The workshop was inaugurated by the Manager of the School, Dr. Rajesh Kumar and Principal DAV College Amritsar. While addressing the participants, he encouraged the teachers to actively participate in such programme to equip themselves with latest competencies such as use of technology tools and share appropriate pedagogic techniques to make learning process connected to real life.
Through a well planned and organised workshop, the worthy resource persons, focussed on special objectives of reading and the ways of attaining confidence and grip over comprehension skills. Many interesting activities were conducted and motivational videos were shown. The workshop saw a vivacious interaction on literature section of Class XII and also an extensive discussion was held on the Writing section. The resource persons also discussed upon the thematic aspects that run through literature texts and the teachers got a hand on experience through worksheets and activities.
The teachers thoroughly enjoyed the lively interactions on various aspects of English syllabus and everyone gained valuable inputs of looking at the curriculum from a new & effective perspective.
Dr. Neera Sharma, Principal of the school thanked the resource persons for their commendable effort in giving a rejuvenated insight into various aspects of learning and teaching of English. She said that such workshops go a long way in improving and enhancing student performance.
