NSS Unit of BBK DAV College organised Declamation Contest

Amritsar, 29 August (Punjab Post Bureau) – NSS Unit of BBK DAV College for women, Amritsar organised Declamation Contest in the Seminar Hall informed Vice Principal Mrs. Manbir Kaushal. The contest was organised in memory of Shaheed Madan Lal Dhingra, the freedom fighter from Amritsar. All first year and first semester student volunteers were present on the occasion. Unit celebrates Balidaan Diwas in the month of August to remember the great freedom fighter, his philosophy of life and his contribution in the struggle of freedom told NSS programme Officer Mrs. Jaspreet Bedi. She further added that it is the first event of the session for new volunteers.  The core committee members of unit were also elected. Harsha, Pratibha and Nidhi were elected as president, vice president and repertoire respectively. Sakshi, Geetanjli and Mohini were elected as members from core committee. All of them pledged to work for NSS unit with zeal and enthusiasm. Slide show was prepared by Mohini and Sakshi. Dhirika, Shivani and Nirva were declared first, second and third respectively in the contest. Programme officers Mrs. Jaspreet Bedi and Mrs. Surbhi acted as judges. Dr. Shweta was also present to motivate the students for social work. Prizes were distributed to the winners at the end of function.
