Fisheries Department begins second phase of fish capturing process from Sri Dugiana Sarovar

Amritsar, Feb. 6 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Fisheries Department under supervision of Sri Durgiana Committee begins PUNJ0602201901the second phase of fish capturing process from the Sri Dugiana Tirath Sarovar with depth of only 5 ft water. The water extraction procedure from pond was interrupted temporarily so that fishes may easily be captured with net and put in the tanker full of water. Fisher men captured fishes having 3kg to 12 Kg weight which includes American, Marukh, Rohu, Mahasheer, Mangu and other species.

President Ramesh Chander Sharma and Gen. Secy. Arun Khanna stated in a press release that Kar Sewa of cleaning Sarovar is strated lauched on 4th Feb. Renovation and beautification of the sarovar  is also on the cards of Sri Durgiana Committee. Kar Sewa project includes the sarovar renovation on the lines of Brahm Sarovar situated in Kurukshetra. Eight feet platform after 2nd sarovar step with only 5 ft. water depth with high steel railing would be built to ensure devotees’s safety while taking dip in holy water. He said that six filters already installed in Sarovar will be replaced due to its filthiness.  He directed to keep record of captured fishes and released during Kar Sewa. President Ramesh Chander Sharma, Gen. Secy. Arun Khanna, Finance Secy. Engineer Ramesh Sharma, Vipin Chopra, Naresh Shrama and other members were also present.
