Chandigarh, July 16 (Punjab Post Bureau) – State Vigilance Bureau today nabbed a lineman of PSPCL posted at sub division Lubania wali in Sri Mukatsar Sahib district red handed accepting bribe.
Disclosing this here today a spokesperson of Vigilance Bureau Punjab said Lineman Raju was arrested by a vigilance team while he was demanding and accepting bribe of Rs. 5,000 from complainant Parmjeet Kaur of village Sagrana in Sri Mukatsar Sahib district in lieu of not removing her domestic electricity meter installed under BC category. She also informed that she had paid Rs. 2000 as a first installment.
Giving details the spokesperson said after verifying her complaint, the VB team laid a trap and the accused lineman was arrested on the spot and Rs. 5,000 of second installment was recovered from him in the presence of two official witnesses. He informed that a case under Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against him at VB police station Ferozepur and further investigation was under progress.
