Cabinet Ministers Randhawa & Channi meets Sikh Scholars
Chandigarh, July 17 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The Punjab Government had invited suggestions from eminent Sikh Scholars in connection with the celebration of 550th Parkash Purb of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. It was in this context that a meeting was held today at the Punjab Bhawan by the Cabinet Ministers S. Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa and Mr. Charanjit Singh Channi with the scholars. The meeting saw the participation of prominent scholars such as Dr. Prithipal Singh Kapoor, Dr. S.P. Singh Former Vice Chancellor Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, Former Chief Secretary SGPC Amritsar Mr. Harcharan Singh, Editor Punjabi Tribune Dr. Swarajbir Singh, Ex-IAS Mr. Jatinderbir Singh Randhawa besides a representative of the Vice Chancellor of Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar.
During the course of meeting, All the scholars forwarded their valuable suggestions and inputs and emphasized that every ‘Nanak Naam Leva’ should be made part of the celebrations. They also rooted for associating every organization connected with Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, an inseparable part of these celebrations.
After the meeting, Both the ministers divulged that the 550th Parkash Purb celebrations would be observed with panthic traditions. They further added that as regarding the other suggestions received from the scholars, the officers have been directed to send a detailed report after carefully each suggestion. The report would be presented to the Chief Minister, Captain Amarinder Singh and after incorporating his suggestions various projects would be executed.
Among others present in the meeting included Principal Secretary Tourism and Cultural Affairs Mr. Vikas Pratap, Director Mr. Malwinder Sing Jaggi, Deputy Director Tourism Mr. Sanjiv Kumar, Mr. Gurdarshan Singh Bahia and Mr. Bhagwantpal Singh Sachar.
