Amritsar, August, 24 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Department of biotechnology and Botany DAV College jointly organized
a workshop on “Biological Applications of Magnetic Nanomaterials” under the star college scheme of DBT Govt of India. Students of BSc (Biotechnology) Sem V and BSc (Med) Sem V participated in the workshop. Dr. Vikas Gupta Head Department of Biotechnology gave a brief description about the workshop.
Dr. Mandeep Singh Bakshi Currently working as Assistant Professor in the department of Natural and Applied Sciences, University of Wisconsin, Green bay USA was the keynote speaker during the event. Principal Dr. Rajesh Kumar along with Dr. Rajni Bala Head Department of Botany welcomed the chief guest.
Principal Dr. Rajesh Kumar congratulated the Department for organizing such events as such events help students in clearing various concepts. He even motivated students to participate in such events as it will help them to have better understanding of subject.
While speaking on occasion Dr. Mandeep Singh Bakshi said that he helped students in preparing magnetic nonoparticles and also helped them in testing their application in water purification and killing of microbes.
During the Valedictory function, Certificates were distributed to the participants. Dr. Ashish Gupta, Dr. Rajni khanna, Dr. Anita Mahajan, Dr. BB Yadav, Dr. Meenu Aggarwal, Dr. Parveen Kumari, Dr. Amita Sharma, Prof. Amanjot Kaur and Prof. Shamli were also present during the event.
