Punjab CM announces Rs.4 Lakh each to kin of prisoners killed by lightning in Ludhiana

 Chandigarh, August 31 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Friday announced ex-gratia grant of Rs. 4 lakh each to the kin of the two prisoners killed by a lightning strike in Ludhiana’s Borstal Jail. Lakhwinder Singh alias Lakha and Rishabh, both from Ludhiana district, died when lightning struck inside the prison precincts. Two prisoners were also injured in the incident.

              Expressing anguish over the incident, Capt Amarinder directed the Deputy Commissioner Ludhiana to ensure the best possible free medical treatment to the injured, identified as Rajwinder Singh and Gurdeep Singh
