Amritsar, Sept 12 (Punjab Post Bureau) – PG Dept. of CS & IT of DAV College in collaboration with UNESCO celebrated “International Literacy Day” under Star college scheme of DBT (GOI). The main aim of this celebration was to create awareness and importance of digital literacy in the society. A total of 81 Students from different streams participated in competitions like Collage making, Extempore, Logo Design and Programming skills with great zeal and enthusiasm.
While briefing the students, Principal Dr Rajesh Kumar appreciated the need of such celebration as such platform provides opportunity to students where they can showcase their hidden talent.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Vikram Sharma, Head Department said that such events prove to be regular activity for the department and it helped them unfold their inner creativity. He further added that the winners in each activity were given mementos and certificates. In Logo-design competition, Danish of Bdmm 3rd Sem stood Ist, Avipal of Bdmm 5th stood 2nd, Vishu of BCA 1st stood 3rd. In Collage Making, Prerna of BSC(IT) 3rd stood Ist, Inderbir of Bdmm 1st Stood 2nd, Muskan of BCA 3rd stood 3rd and In Programming Skills competition, Shivam of BSC(IT)5th stood Ist, Shashank of BSC(IT)3rd sem stood 2nd, Deepak of BSC(IT)5th stood 3rd and In Extempore Competition Rajbir kaur of BCA 1st stood Ist, Navaldeep of BCA 1st stood 2nd, Jatinder of BSC 3rd stood 3rd.
Prof. Sanjiv Dutta, Prof.Vivek Aggarwal, Prof. Rama, Prof. Sandeep Sharma, Prof. Puneet Sharma and Prof. Renu were also present.
