Mini Marathon and Military Band Display at Amritsar on Jan 15

 

Jalandhar, Jan 11 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Indian Army celebrates Army Day on 15 Jan to commemorate Field ArmyMarshal General KM Cariappa taking over as the first Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army.  As a Part of the nationwide celebration of Army Day 2020, the Panther Division of Indian Army will conduct a first of its kind Military Band Display at the Partition Museum located near the Golden Temple in Amritsar on 15 January 2020.

          The Indian Army Band will comprise of Brass Band and a Pipe Band. The melodious live performance will surely instill spirit of patriotism and spread awareness about rich Indian Military History and Heritage amongst the local population. The event will be open to all desirous citizens at 1830 hours on 15 Jan 2020.   A mini marathon is also being organised at Amritsar Cantt to commemorate the Army Day 2020.  Marathon will be flagged off by the GOC Panther Division at 0900 hours.  The event aim to foster civil, military relationship, spread awareness about Indian Army and to encourage healthy living and fitness practices.  Students, civilians and serving soldiers will be participating in the event.
