Central Research Grants of Rs.68 lakhs for Khalsa College

Amritsar, Jan 20 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The department of Science and Technology, Government of India has PPNJ2001202016sanctioned Rs. 68 lakhs research grant for Khalsa College. The grants under Fund for Improvement of S&T Infrastructure (FIST) were approved following the rigorous screening in which country’s 253 colleges participated and 18 were finally selected for the financial allocation. The Khalsa College got the maximum amount, said Principal Dr. Mehal Singh.

            He said he along with Dr. Taminder Singh Bhatia, Director, IQAC, Dr. Amit Anand, Co-ordinator and Dr. Ajay Sehgal, Deputy Co-ordinator, CPE made presentation regarding FIST Programme at Benaras Hindu University, Varanasi in September 2019. The announcement regarding the allocation was received here today.

            Khalsa College Governing Council honourary secretary Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina congratulated Principal and staff and said the amount will be utilized in the procurement of equipment, software and setting of Computer Laboratories in Science departments. Dr. Mehal Singh thanked the management and staff for strenuous efforts to strengthen the infrastructure in the labs.
