Annual Function ‘Rooh Punjab Di’ celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm

Amritsar, Feb. 13 (Punjab Post Bureau) – 480 students of Std. 2 presented their Annual Function ‘Rooh Punjab Di’ with great zeal and enthusiasm with the blessings of Arya Ratan, Dr. Punam Suri (President DAV CMC New Delhi) and under the guidance of the Principal. Dr. (Mrs) Neera  Sharma in Urvi Auditorium.

            The students presented the glory of Punjab in the form of Gatka, Nagar Kirtan, Punjabi Dhaba, Mela, fashion show, Malwai Gidda and last but not the least Bhangra with great vibrancy and elation. 

Children conveyed this message through their performance to the audience that since we are forgetting our rich culture and heritage, it is the duty of every family to guide and motivate their children to follow their traditions and imbibe the good values in their lives. Along with this, children also presented the famous personalities of Punjab like Lala Lajpat Rai , Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev ,Gurdaas Mann, Kapil Dev, Harbhajan Singh, Milkha Singh and many others who made a name in their respective fields. They encouraged everyone to follow their footsteps and achieve success.

            The program was presented in 2 shows, morning and evening. Mr. Ajay Kumar Joint Director- Income Tax (Systems) was the chief guest and Ashok Kumar Arora an Industrialist and philanthropist was Guest of honour in the first show and Dr. Sukhchain Singh Gill, IPS Commissioner of Police Amritsar was the chief guest in the evening show. Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra Regional Director Punjab Zone A,  also showered her blessings on the children and appreciated their performance. Principals of other schools were also present on the occasion.

Ms. Anuradha Grover incharge of DAV Public School (Cantt Branch) and Ms. Sharma Sharma in charge of co-curricular activities were the motivating forces behind the whole event. The principal Dr. (Mrs) Neera Sharma encouraged the children to be proud of being a Punjabi and she wholeheartedly praised the Punjab culture. 

            The chief guests of the shows appreciated the performances of the children and also congratulated the Principal on the success of the program.

            Director Dr. (Mrs). Neelam Karma and Manager Dr. Rajesh Kumar Principal DAV College Amritsar also showered their invaluable blessings on the children and the gathering present at the function.
