Amritsar, February 14 (Punjab Post Bureau) – With the blessings of Padma Shri Awardee Dr. Shri Punam Suri (
President DAV CMC, New Delhi) and under the able guidance of the Principal Dr. Neera Sharma 490 students of standard-1 of DAV Public School presented the Annual Function ” Maa ” at Urvi Auditorium on today in two shows.
Mrs. Komal Mittal (Commissioner, Municipal Corporation , Amritsar ) was the chief guest in the morning show and Dr. Dharam Veer Singh (Principal Sri Guru Harkrishan Sr. Sec. Public School, Amritsar) graced the evening show as the chief guest.
The students after diligent practice expressed themselves with full confidence and performed on the stage. The children beautifully portrayed the different forms of mother like biological mother, mother Earth, mother tongue, mother India, Gau Mata, Guru Maa and the Goddess Durga the divine mother. They showcased the different versions through rhythmic dance performances, nukkad natak, ballet and skit They performed with full vigour and zeal. They effectively conveyed the message of respecting mother as they illuminate our lives with countless blessings. Children conveyed important messages to save Mother Earth, taking pride to use mother tongue,bringing glory to Mother country and significance of gau mata in our lives
Regional Officer, Punjab Zone A, Dr.Neelam Kamra ji praised this initiative by the young students which sensitized and awakened the audience to respect Mother. She wisely said that the word MOTHER symbolises care, love, affection, faith, patience, wisdom, etc. the list is endless. Words are not enough to express the unconditional love of mother and to pay gratitude.
Dr. Rajesh Kumar Ji (Principal DAV College,Amritsar) congratulated the students for putting up a great show and encouraged them to pay respect to mothers as they nurture us with love and care.
Principal Dr. Neera Sharma thanked the elite gathering and appreciated the efforts of the students and the staff. She added that mother deserves to be respected. She has unlimited capacity to make a life, protect and revitalize it with her vibrant energy. Mother only gives us and takes back nothing from us. Same way, Mother Earth provides us the necessities of life. So, it is our responsibility to save and protect our Motherland.
