Prizes and books awarded to around 564 students
Amritsar, March 7 (Punjab Post Bureau) – 64th Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony was held at DAV College, 
Amritsar. Around 564 students were awarded prizes and books. Honorable Dr. G.S Chauhan, Joint Secretary, University grants Commission was the Chief Guest at the occasion. Principal Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Advocate Sudharshan Kapoor, Chairman Local Managing Committee, Vice Principal Dr. Darshandeep, Rajiv Arora, Staff Secretary and Registrar G.S Sidhu presented a souvenir to the Chief Guest as a mark of gratitude.
The Prize Distribution Ceremony started with the Academic Procession in which all the dignitaries actively took part. It was followed by the lighting of Deepshikha and chanting of Veda mantras.
In his keynote address Principal Dr. Rajesh Kumar spoke about the life and achievements of Dr. Chauhan and thanked him for being the Guest of Honour for the function. He also released and read out aloud the Annual Report (2019-2020) of the college appreciating and felicitating the staff and students for their performance during the year. He blessed the students for a great future ahead.
Dr. G.S Chauhan while addressing the students congratulated all the prize winners for their achievement. He advised the students to bring about a positive change in both their lives as well as the society. He motivated the students to work harder in life to achieve their goals.
Rahul Rajwal BA Sem 2nd, Rahul Kumar BA Sem 6th, Prabhat Sharma BSc IT sem 4th and Abhinav Kumar were awarded the flying colors of the college. The College News Bulletin ‘Campus Vibes’ was also released.
The ceremony culminated with a Vote of Thanks by Prof. Rajiv Arora. On this occasion principals of various colleges and schools, Vice Principal Dr. Darshandeep Arora, Registrar GS Sidhu, Administrator Prof. Meenu Aggarwal, Staff Secretary Rajeev Arora , Dr. Parveen Kumari, College Bursar and all the members of teaching and non teaching staff were present.
