Weekend curfew within MC limits of urban areas in district, Night curfew in Dist.

 

Shops and malls to remain closed on Saturday and Sunday, liquor vends to remain open

 Kapurthala, August 22 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Deputy commissioner kapurthala Deepti Uppal has ordered to impose total weekend curfew (Saturday and Sunday ) in the municipal limits of urban areas. She said that the total curfew has been imposed on saturday and sunday within the Municipal limits of all urban areas (Municipal Corporation, Municipal Councils and Nagar Panchayats) till august 31. Besides that night curfew from 7 pm to 5 am in all municipal limits of the District under the unlock-3 guidelines.

                        She said that by keeping in view the rising corona cases, the Dist. administration has decided to impose night curfew. She said that Movement of individuals for all the non-essential activities shall remain prohibited between 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM on all days.

                        However, essential activities and services, movement of persons and goods on National and State Highways, Interstate & Intra State movement of persons and unloading of cargo and travel of persons to their destinations after disembarking from buses, trains and aero planes will be permitted.

                      Essential services include services related to health, agricultural and related activities, dairying and fishery activities, banks, ATMS, stock markets, insurance companies, on-line teaching, public utities, public transport industry in multiple-shifts, construction industry, offices, media both visual & print etc.

                       Movement of persons and students in the connection with all kinds of examinations, admission/entrance tests conducted by Universities, Boards, Public Service Commissions and other institutions shall be permitted.

She said that shops and malls will be allowed to open till 6:30PM but will remain closed on Saturday and Sunday.

                       She also made it clear that shops and malls dealing in essential commodities , religious places, sports complexes, public complexs, restaurants(including restaurants ,hotels in malls) , liquor vends will remain open till 6:30PM on all days. She said that all kind of social , political , religious gathering, protests and demonstration to be prohibited strictly .

                       However gatherings relating to marriage and funeral would be allowed only for 30 and 20 persons respectively.

                   Only 3 persons including driver to be allowed in a 4-wheeler vehicle and All buses and public transport vehicles to allow sitting for 50 % capacity with no person standing.

                      She also said that the district administration had made adequate arrangements to implement these orders in true spirit and manners. Violation of these orders would invite strict action.
