Webinar on Digital Reimagination organized
Amritsar, Sept 1 (Punjab Post Bureau) – UGC-Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC) and Placement Department of Guru Nanak Dev University organized a Webinar on Digital Reimagination which was hosted by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), New Delhi. A large number of faculty members and research scholars of GNDU main campus, Amritsar, it’s regional campuses, constituent colleges and other institutes participated in the webinar. The aim of this programme is to bridge the gap between Industry and Academia and to emphasize on the skills which are required by the industry. Around fifty five participants attended the event.
Mr. Approve Agarwal Head Service Management Practice TCS Akshay Bhargav Head of Program Management Office (PMO) TCS Ajay Singh Head, Delivery Excellence for CBO, TCS and Rajit Sikka Academic Manager North – TCS New Delhi from TCS webcasted this webinar. Ajay Singh spoke on the topic of “IT Infrastructure and IT”. Approve Agarwal presented his views on the topic “Digital Transformation” and Akshay Bhargav shown his presentation on the topic “E Governance and IT”. Rajit Sikka coordinated this webinar from TCS side.
The Chief Guest Prof. Sarabjot Singh Behl Dean Academic Affairs in his inaugural address informed the participants that adoption to technology is the need of hour for the present civilization. He said that during the current scenario how people are working from one room using the technology and doing miracles in digital technology world. He also said that the gap between life and technology must be bridged. More you will use and link yourself with technology; more comfortable you will be in your work and responsibilities. He emphasized that change is the only thing which is constant in the world.
Dr. Amit Chopra, Asstt. Placement Officer coordinated the event and informed the participants about the programme. Dr. B.S Bajwa, Prof. InCharge Placements welcomed the guests. Dr. Adarsh Pal Director HRDC shared the activities of HRDC like skill enhancement of teachers and scholars and said that the Teachers must enhance their skills as per the demand of the industry and especially these industry sponsored programmes are very much required in today’s environment.
Later the participants asked their queries from the industry experts. The participants also submitted online feedback through google forms. The participants of the programme will be given UGC approved E certificates. Dr. Rajbir Bhatti Deputy Director HRDC thanked the guests and all the participants. The Placement Department keeps on arranging webinars of experts from the industry on regular basis.
