Token system in Mandis to check covid spread

Kapurthala, September 30 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The district administration has set the target to procure 763246 MT paddy during the current season, for which the officials have fully geared up besides ensuring implementation of covid protocols.

            In a meeting today the Deputy Commissioner Kapurthala Deepti Uppal said that the district administration has made adequate arrangements for the hassle free purchase of food grain besides ensuring payment to farmers in 48 hours of purchase of their crop.

            She said that the token system across the district mandis have been implemented under which the tokens have already been provided by the district mandi officials to the farmers.

            She also said that the district have enough storage capacity as the president of rice miller associates Inderbir Singh informed that the rice mills are ready for the storage .

            She also asked the food supply and Mandi Board officials to provide santizers, soaps, masks in the mandis to the farmers and labourers to contain the spread of covid 19.

She said that the special mobile teams of health departments to visit the mandis for covid testing besides awaring the farmers and labour to escape themselves from covid.
