Amritsar, November 10 (Punjab Post Bureau) – A delegation of PCCTU led by Dr. BB Yadav Area Secretary Guru
Nanak Dev University Amritsar met with Barindermeet Singh Pahra MLA Gurdaspur and member Syndicate GNDU Amritsar in concern with teacher’s issues working in the colleges affiliated to GNDU. They submitted a memorandum to Pahra and briefed him regarding issues like reemployment of Principals in various colleges which is illegal and against the directives laid down by University Grant Commission, the governing body, Higher education, India. The issue of approval for the newly appointed teachers against 1925 grant in aid posts was also discussed with the honorable MLA.
Dr. Yadav shared that even the new incumbents are not allowed to avail leaves as per the GNDU calendar. Dr. Sekhon District President Amritsar urged the MLA to discuss the issues with Vice Chancellor GNDU so as to implement the GNDU calendar in all the affiliated colleges in Toto so that the managements and Principals of the private aided colleges should not exploit the teacher community. Pahra assured the delegation to take up the issues with the GNDU authorities so that the issues may be solved on priority basis. He promised to raise the voice in GNDU syndicate meeting if required.
The delegation comprising Dr. BB Yadav Dr. Sekhon and Prof. Sidhu thanked Pahra for patiently listening to the genuine demands of teachers and his commitment towards their early and justified resolution.
