With decrease in Freight Expenses, Resumption of Trains to help in keeping inflation under check

Rail Service Would Open Up Avenue of Employment Opportunities For Migrant Laborers

Pathankot, November 28 (Punjab Post Bureau) – With arrival of industrial goods through freight trains and migrant labor through passenger trains, Resumption of rail services is set to bring district’s economy back on tracks. In last three days as many as 11 passengers and four goods trains have arrived at Pathankot helping local traders and businessmen to receive their products from national capital.

                 President Vyapar Mandal Pathankot Naresh Arora said that the local traders have received a total of 93 goods parcels through these trains in last three days that includes 42 goods parcels of city and 51 parcels of cantonment areas. President Naresh Arora further mentioned that the local industry was mainly relying upon the import from the New Delhi and some items from the nearby districts including Ludhiana, Amritsar and Jalandhar. He said that due to suspension of goods trains by railways in Punjab, the local business community was in limbo.  He thanked Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh for his sincere efforts for restoring the rail services in Punjab.

                     Arora emphasized that the restoration of train services would ultimately lead towards the keep inflation under check as good trains would cut the freight expenses by half. He said that the people lately have witnessed inflation in almost sector, which hoped to be remained under check in coming days. The President further said that the passenger trains would open avenue of employment for the migrant laborers as they can easily travel across the state in search of jobs. He said that in last three days a large numbers of migrant laborers have arrived at Pathankot besides many left for their native places to join their family in various social and family events.
