Deputy Commissioner reviews the functioning of health department

Orders to 100 % coverage children under pulse polio

Kapurthala, December 16 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Deputy commissioner kapurthala Deepti Uppal today reviews the functioning of health department ,under which she take a stock of health scheme like wellness clinics, DAPO, Bio medical waste, UDID, Drug De Addiction, Sarbat sehat Bema yojna, National tobacco control etc.

                Deputy Commissioner said that the department should gear up for covid vaccination as per the parameters of Punjab Government.

              She also asked the health officials to ensure covid sampling of more than 2000 people daily.

                Talking about the Pulse polio campaign, the Deputy Commissioner said that due to the covid, the immunization plan was affected badly and now the department has to ensure 100 % immunization at rural areas also.

              The health officials informed that the pulse polio caimpaign would be held in January 2021, under which 87579 children between the age group of 0-5 years would be covered. To ensure the proper immunization, 544 booths, 73 mobile teams would be deployed besides 103 superviosor.

              Asks to ensure sampling of students as their exam is going to start. She asks the civil surgeon to prepare a comprehensive plan for that so that students must be covered across the district. She also asked the Education and social security department to assist the health department to implement that in true spirit and manner.

                Revewing the food adulteration across the district especially to disclose the expiry date of sweets, the Deputy Commissioner asked the assistance food commissioner to speep up the cheking of sweet shops.

                Besides that Deputy Commissioner also asked to provide the sarbat sehat bima yojna cards to the eligible applicants till March 2021 under which citizens will be provided treatment worth Rs. 5 lakh free of cost.

               Presently in the district 2.89 lakh cards to be made in the district which will include farmers, labourers, economic weaker section etc.

                  Prominent amongst present in the meeting included SDM Varinderpal Singh Bajwa , SDM Bholath T Benith, Civil surgeon Dr .Surinder kumar, DPO Saneh lata and SMOs of all sub division hospitals.
