Deputy Commissioner and SSP Reviews voting process throughout the day

Hails the efforts of voters and election staff for a peaceful and smooth election

Kapurthala, 14 February (Punjab Post Bureau) – Kapurthala Municipal Corporation and Sultanpur Lodhi Municipal Council elections were held in a peaceful and smooth manner today.

                Deputy Commissioner cum District election officer Deepti Uppal and SSP Kanwardeep kaur visited the polling booths throughout the day to monitor the entire election process.

              Deputy Commissioner went to polling booths 1,2,3,80,83 of Kapurthala Municipal Corporation besides booths No. 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 12 and 13 of Sultanpur Lodhi Municipal council to have a look at the polling process. She said that the counting of votes for both the corporations would take place on February 17 for which adequate arrangements have been made by the district administration.

             S.S.P Kanwardeep Kaur also visited various polling booths in the city in the day and monitored the security arrangements. She said that no untoward incident was reported from Kapurthala and Sultanpur Lodhi for which the residents of the cities and the security personnel played a key role.
