An Emergent Meeting of the PFUCTO held at GNDU

 Amritsar, February 17 (Punjab Post Bureau) – An emergent meeting of office bearers of Guru Nanak Dev University Teachers’ Association (GNDUTA) and Punjab and Chandigarh College Teachers’ Union (PCCTU) was held today under the banner of Punjab Federation of University and College Teachers Organization (PFUCTO) at Guru Nanak Dev University Amritsar. The organization showed wrath against non-implementation of recommendations of 7th Pay Commission, Government of India. The joint Committee stated that the UGC recommended pay scales have been implemented in almost every state of India but unfortunately teaching fraternity of Punjab has been deprived of its benefits since January 2016. PFUCTO further stated that Punjab Government is trying to delink the pay scales of teachers from UGC 7^th CPC which will result in delinking of higher education system of the state from National Higher Education System. In this regard, the federation has already written to Honorable Chief Minister of Punjab Captain Amrinder Singh.

                  It was decided in the meeting that all the unit members of GNDU and its affiliated colleges will mobilize the cadre regarding their demands and a massive Dharna cum Rally will be organized in front of Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. The date for the rally will be intimated shortly.

                    During the meeting office bearers of GNDUTA Dr. Lakhwinder Singh President, Dr. Sukhdev Singh Vice President, Dr. NPS Saini Secretary, Dr. BS Bal Joint Secretary, Dr. Devinder Singh Former President, Dr. Anupinder Singh Treasurer, Dr. Jatinder Kumar Executive member and members of PCCTU, Dr. BB Yadav GNDU Area Secretary,  Dr. G.S Sekhon District President, Dr. Seema Jaitley District Secretary,  Dr. Munish Gupta Secretary DAV College Unit and Dr. Anjana Bedi Secretary BBK DAV College for women were present.
