400th Parkashpurab will be celebrated with full enthusiasm at Large Scale -Mayor

Mayor Rintu Supervises Development Works at Vallah

Amritsar, April 23 (Punjab Post Bureau) – As part of the large scale celebrations of 400th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji by the government of Punjab, various development works are being initiated in the `holy city’ too. This was stated by city Mayor Mr Karamjit Singh Rintu who today supervised the public works worth crores at Vallah, the huge village on the outskirts of city here, associated with Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib.

                    While giving directions to the works to the officials Mayor said Guru Ke Mehal the birth place of Guru Teg Bahadur, near here and Gurdwara Kotha Sahib Vallah, will witness a number of religious programs. “The city Municipal Corporation will be spending crores for the various development works in these places associated with Guru Sahib”, said he adding that the two historic places will see the major face-lift.

                  After paying obeisance at Gurdwara Koth Sahib Vallah he ordered the officials to complete the works within the time frame. He said it was a matter of pride for all of us that we are celebrating the 400th Parkash Purab in our lifetime. He said the state government under Honourable Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh has taken special interests in Amritsar due to the birth place of Guru Ji falling in the `holy city’.

              He said Chief Minister Captain Amarinder has stated that there will be no paucity of funds for the development works in these areas. He said the work on the development in the city is going on war-footing and most of the works will be completed within the stipulated time at Valla where the focus is on drinking water, sewerage, street-lighting, beautification & landscaping of the surroundings apart from pavement of roads, streets and footpaths.

                He said all the requests of Valla residents regarding the works had been completed and more if any will also be addressed. He sought blessings from Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib and asked the Sangat to follow the teachings and philosophy of Guru Sahib. Apart from top MC officials, Councilor Ranjit Kaur, Bhagat Ranjit Singh, Kashmir Singh Kaku, Sukhdev Singh sahota, Manager Tarsem Singh, ex-Councilor Malkeet Singh, Sukhraj Singh Lambardar, SGPC Member Sukhwant Singh, Darbara Singh, Balwinder Singh and Amrik Singh, Jagdish Singh, Sahib Singh, Kashmir Singh Sohal were present along with others.
