Amritsar, May 13 (Punjab Post Bureau) – SGPC president Bibi Jagir Kaur and chief secretary Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami have strongly condemned the brutal assault and desecration of Kes (hair) of Sikh youth in Rajasthan.
In a press statement issued from the SGPC office president Bibi Jagir Kaur said, “Incident which took place in Rajasthan is very tragic and there is a lot of resentment and anger in the minds of the Sikh community. At a time when there is a crisis due to Covid-19 pandemic, Sikhs have come to the help the needy without any discrimination. The selfless service rendered by the Sikhs is being appreciated all over the world but on the other hand cases of atrocities against the Sikhs are coming to light. The beating of a Sikh youth in Rajasthan is unfortunate and should be taken seriously by the governments.”
The SGPC top officials said that although a case has been registered by Rajasthan police against four accused persons who had assaulted the Sikh youth but this did not mean that the matter has closed. They demanded immediate arrest of the culprits from the Rajasthan government and the police administration to punish them severely so that no one else could commit such an atrocious crime again.
