Action sought against accused by submitting memorandum at Sri Akal Takht Sahib
Amritsar, July 21 (Punjab Post Bureau) – In the case of setting fire to Gurdwara Sahib by a woman at Jaulian village in Sangrur district, the management committee of Gurdwara Sahib of Jaulian, SGPC executive member Bhupinder Singh Bhalwan, Bibi Malkit Kaur Kamalpur, Jathedar Teja Singh Kamalpur and some dignitaries of the village handed over a memorandum in the name of Giani Harpreet Singh Jathedar Sri Akal Takht Sahib to his personal assistant Jaspal Singh Dhade.
They demanded that strict action should be taken against those who obstructed the transport of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji to Sri Goindwal Sahib with due respect which was burnt in the fire incident at Jaulian village.
Teja Singh Kamalpur and Bhupinder Singh Bhalwan who reached Sri Akal Takht Sahib said that after the fire incident at Jaulian village, when the burnt holy saroop of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji transported to Sri Goindwal Sahib after offering prayers, Harjinder Singh Majhi, Amarjit Singh Kanakwal Bhanguan and Bachittar Singh Mangwal recalled the holy saroop through administration.
“This severely hurt the sentiments of the Sikh community, because once the ardas (prayer) was offered, they disrespected Guru Granth Sahib by doing so in order to gain fame. The holy saroop of Guru Granth Sahib was recalled from the way and stopped from June 25 to July 5, 2021. By doing so, these people have insulted Guru Granth Sahib Ji and Panthic traditions, for which strict action should be taken against them”, said Teja Singh and Bhupinder Singh.
Jagmel Singh Chhajla president Granthi Ragi Pracharak Singh Sabha, Babbi Singh president local Gurdwara Committee Jaulian, Kulwant Singh former chairman resident of Jaulian and others were also present.
