DAV Public School observes National Sports Day

Amritsar, August 29 (Punjab Post Bureau) – DAV Public School Lawrence Road observed National Sports Day. A special assembly was organised by the teachers to commemorate the birth anniversary of the great hockey wizard Major Dhyan Chand. The assembly began by seeking the blessings of Almighty. The teachers highlighted the significance of this day and remembered the great player and urged the students to take inspiration from the eventful life of this distinguished sports personality. They also mentioned about the importance of sports and games in one’s life, which helps one to be physically active and healthy. They also talked about the famous sports personalities with special reference to the players who won medals in the Tokyo Olympics and brought laurels to the country.

               Regional Officer Punjab Zone A Dr. Neelam Kamra and the Manager of the school Dr. Pushpinder Walia in their message asked the students to respect great legends like Dhyan Chand and take pride in celebrating Indian culture and heritage.

             Mrs. Anita Mehra Principal of the school motivated the students to take part in games and advised them to imbibe the value of honesty, team spirit, self discipline and co–operation.
