Mayor Rintu attends All India Council of Mayors meeting as Vice Chairman at Ayodhya

Amritsar, September 13 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Mayor Karamjit Singh Rintu attended first day of 111th meeting of All India Council of Mayors (AICM) at Ayodhya Uttar Pradesh, where he was welcomed by Ayodhya Mayor Rishikesh Upadhyay. Earlier Mayor Karamjit Singh was received by AICM Chairman Naveen Jain, who is also the Mayor of Agra Municipal Corporation. It is recalled that Mayor Rintu has been appointed Vice-Chairman of AICM.

The two-day meeting September 12-13, 2021, is being chaired by Uttar Pradesh Local Government Minister Ashutosh Tandon and is being attended by mayors of 70 municipal corporations across the country.

Mayor Rintu said that the main purpose of holding this meeting at Ayodhya is to prepare a framework for the special development of the relics related to the life of Lord Shri Ram ji and the visiting mayors should be aware of the places associated with Lord Shri Ram in their respective cities.

In this two day meet the mayors of different cities are sharing their views and experiences about the ongoing development works and other development schemes in their respective cities and how to utilize the resources available with their municipal corporations in the public interest.
