Amritsar, October 1 (Punjab Post Bureau) – SGPC President Bibi Jagir Kaur has taken stern notice of the dance performed during a wedding ceremony at Gurdwara Sahib at a village near Ropar in violation of Maryada (code of conduct) and demanded action against the accused persons.
Bibi Jagir Kaur said that the Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib would be appealed to take action in this regard and senior superintendent of police (SSP) Ropar would also be asked to take strict action so that no one would further violate the Maryada of the Guru’s house.
SGPC President said that the honour of the Guru’s house has been harmed by dancing inside the pandal set up at the Gurdwara Sahib in a village near Ropar.
She said that videos have been sent to her by the Sangat, about which the SGPC is writing to the police administration of Ropar. She said that Sri Akal Takht Sahib would also be requested to take action in this matter.
Bibi Jagir Kaur said that it is unfortunate that such a manmat (mind’s intellect against teachings of Sikh Gurus) had been conducted at Gurdwara Sahib, the center of Sikh preaching. She said that as per the information that has come to light Baba Gajidas Club President Davinder Singh Bajwa had committed this objectionable act and the SGPC will get complete information about this incident.
