Mahatama Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri Jayanti observed with reverence at DAV Public School

Amritsar, October 1 (Punjab Post Bureau) – A special assembly was organized at DAV Public School Lawrence Road on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti and Lal Bahadur Shastri Jayanti. The teacher apprised the students how these revolutionary leaders and crusaders of freedom fought for a common cause and paid a huge price for the freedom of India. They indoctrinated the students to follow the ideals set by these great leaders. Inspiring excerpts were read out and the atmosphere resonated with the patriotic slogan of ‘Jai Jawan Jai Kisan’

                   Regional Officer Punjab Zone (A) Dr. Neelam Kamra in her message adjured the students to draw inspiration from the lives of these glorious sons of India and live upto their ideals. The manager of the school Dr. Pushpinder Walia through her message awakened the spirit of patriotism in the students and motivated them to embrace the ideology of these great leaders.

            Principal of the school Mrs. Anita Mehra exhorted the students to adopt the Gandhian philosophy as a way of life and eliminate violence not only in their behaviour but thoughts as well. She quoted how Lal Bahadur Shastri though from a humble back ground rose to great height by his noble deeds.
