1500 kg. Plastic collected during Swachh Bharat Abhiyan

Amritsar, 9 October (Punjab Post Bureau) – Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India  organising Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (1 to 31 October) in 744 districts of all states and union territories of the country.
                  Nehru Yuva Kendra Amritsar had set a target to run this campaign in 200 villages of district Amritsar and collect at least 11000 kg plastic.

                About the program, District Youth Officer Akanksha Mahawaria told in conversation that till date 08/10/2021, it has been run in about 50 villages of Amritsar district and through this campaign, about 1500 kg of plastic and other types of waste has been collected. Under the program, youth got a pledge to contribute to this campaign and clean the area around them and collect plastic from there.

            So far, activities of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan conducted in different villages of district Amritsar include Bhillowal Pakka, Tangra, Muchhal, Tahli Sahib, Nibber Wind, Bothangad, kaler Bala Pai, Maqboolpura, Tarsika, Verka, Gurwali, Supariwind, Ding Nangal, Ibn Khurd. . DPO office, Wazir Bhullar, Bhorchi Bhramana, Madh etc. was the main places.
