Draft voter list for Assembly elections 2022 published – 614800 voters in the district

Phagwara AC has the highest number of 189744 voters

Kapurthala, November 1 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Draft voter list of Kapurthala district for Punjab Assembly elections 2022 has been printed, according to which there are a total of 614800 voters in the district.

                  Disclosing this here today Deputy Commissioner cum District Electoral Officer Mrs. Deepti Uppal said that as per the voter list prepared on the basis of eligibility date 1st January 2022, out of total 614800 voters in the district there are 321260 male and 293508 female voters.

                    Phagwara Assembly constituency has the highest number of 189744 voters while Bholath has the lowest number of 134405 voters. Phagwara has a total electorate of 189744 with 227 polling booths. There are 175 polling booths for 134405 voters in Bholath, 196 polling booths for 144993 voters in Kapurthala and 195 polling booths for 145658 voters in Sultanpur Lodhi.

                  She also said that 2764 voters in the age group of 18 to 19 years were registered in the district while there were 3412 physically challenged voters. There are also 1339 service voters. During the meeting with  representatives of the political parties today she handed over copies of the draft voter list.

                According to the Election Commission of India, claims and objections would be received by BLOs from November 1 to November 30 which would be settled on December 20, while the final publication of the voter list would take place on January 5, 2022.

                 Sukhdev Singh from Shiromani Akali Dal, Manpreet Singh Mangat from Congress, Yashpal Azad from Aam Aadmi Party, Mr. Ashwani Tuli from BJP were present on the occasion.
