Amritsar, November 7 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The fourth Zonal Youth festival ‘D’ Zone of Guru Nanak Dev
University was inaugurated in the Dasmesh Auduitroium of the University. Students-artists from affiliated colleges of Kapurthala and Nawanshar District are participating in 35 items of Music, Theatre, Dance and Literary & Fine Arts.
Prof. T.S Banipal, Dean College Development of the University inaugurated the festival by lighting the lamp in the presence of Prof. Anish Dua, Dean Student’s Welfare and Sh. Baljit Singh Sekhon Advisor and other members of teaching and non-teaching fraternity.
Today, the competitions of Bhangra, Group Shabad/Bhajan, Group Song (Indian) and Folk Orchestra were organized in the Dashmesh Auditorium. On the stage of Guru Nanak Bhawan Auditorium, Classical Instrumental (Percussion), Classical Instrumental (Non-Percussion) Classical Vocal and on the stage of Architecture Department the competitions of Painting on the Spot, Cartooning, Poster Making, Collage, Clay Modelling, On the Spot Photography and Installation were organized.
Tomorrow, the competitions of Costume Parade, Mime, Mimicry, Skit, One Act Play will be organized in the Dashmesh Auditorium and Vaar Singing, Kawishri, Geet/Gazal, Folk Song will be held in the Guru Nanak Bhawan Auditorium. In the Conference Hall of the University, the competitions of Poetical Symposium, Elocution, Debate and Quiz Preliminary will be arranged. On the fourth stage of Architecture Department Rangoli, Phulkari and Mehndi will be organised. On the last i.e. November 09, General Group Dance, Gidha and Western Vocal Solo, Western Group Song & Western Instrumental will be held in the Dashmesh Auditorium. On this day, the prize distribution function will be held in the Dashmesh Auditorium of the University.
