SGPC ask for passports for pilgrim jatha to Pakistan

Amritsar, December 5 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has started the process to send a jatha (group) of pilgrims to visit Gurdwara Sahibs in Pakistan on the occasion of Khalsa Sajna Diwas (Vaisakhi).

             SGPC sends four jathas every year to visit shrines in Pakistan including on the occasion of Khalsa Sajna Diwas and passports have been demanded from the pilgrims in this regard.

                 SGPC media secretary S. Kulwinder Singh Ramdas informed that on the occasion of Khalsa Sajna Diwas (Vaisakhi) a jatha of devotees would be sent to Pakistan in April 2022.

                 “Special functions will be held at Gurdwara Sri Panja Sahib in this regard, while the jatha will also visit other shrines. The pilgrims who want to visit Pakistan on this day can submit their passports till December 31, 2021 in the office Yatra Department of SGPC at Amritsar”, said S. Kulwinder Singh.

             He said that it is important for the pilgrims to get the recommendation from the SGPC members of their respective constituencies and also to submit a copy of Aadhar card or Voter card as proof of their identity. He said that pilgrims interested to visit shrines in Pakistan should submit their passports before December 31, 2021, so that the visa process could be processed in a timely manner.
