National Bank for Agri and Rural Development (NABARD) at PITEX 2021

Amritsar, 8 December (Punjab Post Bureau) – The Punjab International Trade Expo (PITEX), premier trade and business exhibition, was held at Amritsar from 02 Dec to 06 Dec 2021. National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has collaborated with PHD Chamber of Commerce and 20 stalls for the rural artisans, SHG members and FPO members of Punjab and other states of northern India have been provided to showcase their products at PITEX. The FPOs promoted by NABARD sold various products like Honey, Jaggery, Multigrain Atta, Turmeric Powder, Organic Basmati, Desi Ghee, Pickles, Anar Dana etc. The SHGs showcased and marketed their handmade products like Paintings, Woollen Clothes, Artificial Jewellery, Jute Products and Rugs etc. Sangrur Phulkari Producer Co. Ltd., the Off Farmers Producer Organisation (OFPO) promoted by NABARD also participated in the event. The OFPO artisans marketed their traditional embroidery craft of Phulkari. Shri PK Bhardwaj, General Manager NABARD and Ms. Arpita Bhattacharjee , DGM NABARD highlighted the role and potential of Agriculture sector in increasing the export volume and value during their interaction with the Industry members and exporters during the Exporters’ Conclave on 04 Dec 2021. Bhardwaj highlighted various interventions of NABARD for the development of Agriculture and Rural Sector in the Punjab.
