Fitness Training Programme for Asstt. & Asso Professors Inaugurated

Daily fitness routine can enhance energetic teaching – Dean Academic

Amritsar, January 24 (Punjab Post Bureau) – 16 Days Training Programme for Assistant/Associate Professors (Physical Education) of the Government Colleges of Punjab was inaugurated here today in the University campus. Prof. Hardip Singh, Dean Academic Affairs of the University inaugurated this programme and Prof. Karanjeet Singh Kahlon, Registrar was the guest of honour on this occasion. This training programme is being organized by the Department of Physical Education, Guru Nanak Dev University and Department of Higher Education, Government of Punjab by following Covid guidelines issued by the Govt.  

            Prof. Hardip Singh said that adding exercise to your daily routine can enhance benefits and help build stamina for energetic teaching. He said that whether people engage in regular exercise and physical activities provides a huge range of benefits for the body and mind. This type of programme can be very beneficial especially for teachers.  Prof. Karanjeet Singh Kahlon said that taking part in sports, exercise and other physical activities in everyday life prevents from many diseases and other health issues. Dr. Davinder Singh Johl and Dr. Baljinder Singh Bal were also present on this occasion.

               Dr. Sukhdev Singh Co-ordinator gave details about the programme. He said that during this programme academic sessions, sports sessions, fitness/recreation sessions and academic visits & interactions with eminent sports persons will be organized. Dr. Amandeep Singh, Co-ordinator presented vote of thanks. Dr. Parminder Singh conducted the proceedings of the stage.
