Amritsar, February 22 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has started preparations for the upcoming annual budget of the Sikh body. A budget sub-committee formed by SGPC President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami held a meeting at the SGPC office today. The meeting was attended by SGPC senior vice-president S. Raghujit Singh Virk, junior vice-president Principal Surinder Singh, general secretary Jathedar Karnail Singh Panjoli, SGPC executive committee member S. Sarvan Singh Kular, SGPC members Bhai Gurinder Singh Grewal and Satwinder Singh Tohra, secretary Mohinder Singh Ahli and additional secretary Sukhminder Singh.
During the meeting, the priorities of the upcoming budget of SGPC were discussed. Earlier, the budget sub-committee had held different meetings with the managers and accountants of historical Gurdwara Sahibs managed by SGPC and heads of the educational institutions, and their suggestions were taken. These suggestions were also discussed in the meeting today.
It is notable that this budget sub-committee will submit its report to the SGPC executive committee and after its approval, the annual budget session will be called.
Notably, SGPC manages the historical Gurdwara Sahibs and it also works for flourishing the Sikh faith through its Dharam Prachar Committee. At the same time, many schools and colleges are also managed and run by SGPC. For providing services to the Sangat through each of these organisations, a separate budget is maintained, for the preparation of which, the budget sub-committee works.
