SGPC takes strict notice of disrespect of Kakaars in a fashion show

Amritsar, May 30 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Taking strict notice of the disrespect of Sikh Kakaars (symbols of faith) in a fashion show in Delhi, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee President Advocate Harjinder Singh has demanded strict action against the accused people. Harjinder Singh said the Kakaars are an integral part of the Sikh faith and these are worn under a Maryada (code of conduct).

                “Some people are inciting the religious sentiments of Sikhs by misusing the Sikh attire and Kakaars and the governments must take appropriate action against them”, said Harjinder Singh. He said in a viral video reported to be from Delhi some girls are being presented in a fashion show wearing turbans on their heads and Kirpans above their dresses.

             SGPC President said in-charge of the Sikh Mission Delhi has been deputed to conduct a thorough investigation in this matter and strict action could be taken against the accused people. He warned the government to take strict action against the accused so that nobody can play with the religious sentiments.
