Gurmat Samagam observed to commemorate martyrdom day of Shaheed Bhai Mani Singh

Amritsar, July 12 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee observed the martyrdom day of Shaheed Bhai Mani Singh, the great martyr of Sikh Qaum (community), with devotion and respect by organising a Gurmat Samagam (Religious Congregation) at Gurdwara Sri Manji Sahib Diwan Hall.

                After bhog of Sri Akhand Path Sahib on this occasion, hazuri raagi jatha of Sachkhand Sri Harmandar Sahib Bhai Mahandeep Singh performed the Gurbani Kirtan. The ardas (Prayer) was offered by Bhai Baljit Singh and holy hukamnama was recited for the Sangat by Bhai Harmitar Singh Katha wachak of Gurdwara Sri Manji Sahib.

                Bhai Harmitar Singh shared with the Sangat, the life history of Shaheed Bhai Mani Singh and appealed to them to take inspiration from his life. He said that the martyrdom of Bhai Mani Singh is an example of Sikh faith, who got his limbs one by one but did not bow down to atrocities of the enemy.

                 Those present on this occasion included SGPC Executive Committee member Balwinder Singh, member Advocate Bhagwant Singh, additional Secretary Dr. Paramjit Singh, Partap Singh, Manager of Sri Darbar Sahib Sulakhan Singh, assistant secretary Gurinder Singh, Gurmeet Singh, Satnam Singh, superintendent Malkeet Singh, Manager Sukhraj Singh, additional manager Iqbal Singh, Nishan Singh and a large number of Sangat.
