SGPC legal notice to Vivek Bindra for animating personality of tenth Sikh Guru

Amritsar, July 29 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee has sent legal notice to Dr. Vivek Bindra, a motivator on social media for animating the personality of Sri Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Sikh Guru (master) and presenting the Sikh history in wrong manner.

Moreover, SGPC is also taking action to register a case against Dr. Vivek Bindra for hurting religious sentiments of Sikhs.

SGPC assistant secretary media Kulwinder Singh Ramdas said that Dr. Vivek Bindra, who is active on social media as motivator had uploaded an animation video of Sri Guru Gobind Singh and Diwan Todar Mal and SGPC received various objections from the Sangat. In this video, Dr. Bindra presented wrong history, which has hurt Sikh sentiments.

Ramdas said that the SGPC President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami ordered action while taking strict notice of this matter, following which, legal notice has been sent to Dr. Bindra and the police administration is also being written for action

He said the video of Dr. Vivek Bindra was examined by Sikh Itihas Research Board of SGPC, which revealed that he distorted the history by linking Diwan Todar Mal to the Jain community. Moreover, in the video he also displayed the conversation of Diwan Todar Mal with Sri Guru Gobind Singh, which is historically unfounded.

Ramdas said that Dr. Vivek Bindra disobeyed despite the fact that animation or filming of personality of Sikh Gurus is forbidden as per the order of Sri Akal Takht Sahib. Due to this act of Dr. Vivek Bindra, the sentiments of Sikh Sangat are hurt, for which, action has been taken against him by the SGPC.
